There are plenty of alternative food with high amounts of protein for vegetarians, you just need to know where to look and what to eat.

Usually, people eat meat, eggs, fish and dairy products in order to gain protein, but vegetarians (and vegans)  need to look elsewhere for their protein.

I’m a vegetarian, and I don’t really have an issue when it comes to protein, I understand what to eat, and never actually do much thinking about how to get enough protein and what I really should be eating.

If you eat a variety of foods, you’ll get sufficient protein during the day. That’s a rule of thumb.

Let me give you a list of vegetarian food you should eat to get a lot of protein:

- All sorts of nuts and seeds
- All sorts of vegetables
- Beans, peas and lentils
- Whole grains, brown rice, barley, quinoa and oatmeal
- Soy products like soy milk, soy yogurt, soy cheese
- Dairy and Eggs (if you’re not vegan)

I usually combine high protein food like beans and rice or wholegrains, nuts and seeds. If you do that, you’ll get more than enough protein each day.
